Crock Pot Chili

When my husband asked me for chili dogs in his lunch the other day, my first thought was Woohoo... chili in the crock pot! I love the smell of chili that's been crocking all day. Its warm and comforting and although its springtime.... its perfect on the cold and windy days.

I found a simple recipe last year that I tweaked a little and made my own. And I strongly encourage you to do the same with my recipes so that you may find the flavor that fits you best!!

Here it is in a nut shell. Simple. Tasty. Hearty. Delicious.

CROCK POT CHILI

1 14.9oz can kidney beans strained and rinsed
1 14.9oz can kidney beans in chili sauce
2 cans diced tomatoes (1 regular, 1 with diced green chilies)
1 small can tomato sauce
1 lb ground beef
1 onion
4-5 cloves chopped garlic
Minimum of 4 Tbsp chili powder

Season ground beef with 1-2 Tbsp chili powder, add onions and garlic and cook over medium heat until beef is browned and onions are transparent.  Pour into bottom of crock pot and top with remaining ingredients. Mix well before covering. Cook on low 6-8 hours and high 4-6 hours.
8-12 Servings.

Simply. Delicious.
